Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the average age of the students?
That depends on the course, but all students are above the age of 18.
- Will I get a certificate at the end of the course, and can I use this instead of taking an IELTS exam, to help me gain access to the University?
All students receive a certificate at the end of course (subject to their attendance level and successful completion of assessments). Satisfactory completion of the EAP/BME gives students direct entry to the University without the need to take IELTS again. This is also true for some EAS students, although some students (depending on their entrance level and course) will have to complete the EAP or BME course in the summer months to gain the right of entry.
- When do I need to pay?
We will need to receive your deposit before you arrive, to guarantee your place. The remainder of the course fees will need to be paid during your first week.
- What is your policy on refunds?
Your deposit is non refundable, unless you are refused a UK visa in which case we will need to see the original refusal documents. £100 will be kept as an administration fee.
- If I have to leave early, will I be reimbursed for the weeks I did not attend, or do I have to pay for the whole term?
Unfortunately it will be necessary to pay for the whole term.
- Do you offer cheaper rates for EU students?
Unfortunately not; all our students pay the same rate.
- Will I be able to use the library on the main campus?
Yes. You can use any of the libraries and all of the University facilities.
- Will I be able to use the sports facilities on the main campus, and how much will this cost?
Yes. Unfortunately there is a charge, but this will depend on what you would like to do. The sports centre webpages will provide more details.
