Hayley Maxwell holds a BEd Hons in History (Exeter University), an MEd in TESOL (Manchester University) and an Institute of Linguists Advanced Diploma in Spanish. She has taught general, Business and Academic English in Spanish and UK universities. She has been involved in English language testing for many years in Spain, the UK and Iran.
Hayley specialises in the teaching of English for Academic Purposes on postgraduate programmes in Birmingham Business School, and also teaches a number of EISU’s lunchtime classes.
Hayley is Director of the International Foundation Programme in Business, Arts, Social Science and Law.
Her main professional interests are the development of academic writing skills in subject specific areas, EAP course design and development, English language assessment, Business English and intercultural communication. Hayley’s in-house publications include ‘Business Management English Academic Writing Guide’ and ‘Academic Reading’ in collaboration with Cathryn Overall.
