Richard Woodward has a BA in Economics and History, an RSA Certificate in TEFLA, and an MA in TEFL/TESL from the University of Birmingham. He has been working as a teacher of English for over 15 years, with experience of teaching EFL in Turkey and France, and EAP experience in several H.E and F.E contexts within the UK.
He is currently working as a tutor on the EAS (English and Academic Skills) course, for which he has responsibility for materials writing and syllabus design. He is also the Examinations Co-ordinator for EISU Selly Oak. This involves offering guidance and support to students who intend to sit an examination (such as IELTS of TOEFL) to aid their application for an academic course.
He has been involved in various Professional Development courses with institutions such as Beijing University of Technology and Harbin Institute of Technology. He has also provided EAP input for various University of Birmingham Foundation courses.
Richard is interested in EAP, corpus linguistics and materials development.
